Below you’ll find complete instructions as well as products used in making this video. I don’t have much fabric on hand so we went to Hobby Lobby and bought 1/4 yard of four materials and 1/2 yard of another, all having similar colors.
The foam pumpkin I bought from Temu and it is 5″ tall, but found similar ones on Amazon. Link: https://tinyurl.com/3yenzzaz Here’s the one I bought on Temu. Link: https://tinyurl.com/2ak877vs
Take a sharp knife and cut into the divots of the pumpkin from the top center of the pumpkin to close to the bottom center. Don’t cut all the way through the foam, just deep enough to push the fabric and have the fabric stay. Once all of the slits are made, take your first piece of fabric about 3″ wide and 8″ tall and put a small amount of hot glue in the center of one of the pumpkin raised areas to hold the fabric in place, then take a butter knife and using the back of it, start in the center of the pumpkin, pressing the fabric into the slits alternating from the right side to the left side, back and forth, making sure there are no bumps or creases on your fabric. If you have a little too much fabric on the sides, you can turn the fabric under like a hem, and then press it into the cut working your way from the middle to the top and then the bottom. If you have way too much fabric, cut off until you feel it will work better for you.
I removed the stem until I was done, and pushed my fabrics under the stem so there’s no unfinished area. On the bottom, I hot glued the fabric down so the bottom was covered with fabric but not leaving so much fabric that the pumpkin wouldn’t sit flat.
