The kind people at Hippie Crafter sent me a set of 36 watercolors that come in a metal palette and are offering my viewers a 10% discount on Amazon using the code hippiecrafter10.
To make the cards, I used a #5 Grace Art brush from Amazon link: https://tinyurl.com/2pypn68y to paint the cards on Arteza watercolor 5 x 7″ cards link: https://tinyurl.com/mxuuwyud. The stamp I used is from Simon Says Stamp Orchid Rose Bouquet link: https://tinyurl.com/2ekvmzvd that was in their February 2022 card kit. I stamped it in Gina K Amalgam Ink in Black and then covered it with clear embossing powder and heat set the design. The first card, I painted the background in an orange color and after I finished the background, I took a bib that I keep on the arm of my chair, made it wet with water and then dabbed the background orange color so it isn’t so vibrant. Don’t try this with regular cardstock, since I’m using watercolor paper, it holds up to this technique and doesn’t pill.
I finished painting the cards, then made a sentiment strip with black ink embossed with clear embossing powder then heat set, and layering it on foam tape onto the cards. I really liked the way they turned out, and these watercolors are nice…they blend well and are really vibrant.
