My girlfriend loves dogs and this set was irresistible to me. I used a 10″ x 7″ cream Recollections 110 pound card stock base (scored on the 10″ length at 5″.) and added a layer of paper with a cork look that is 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and then stamped a brick wall using a brick background stamp that I had in my stash (from Stampin’ Up but name is unknown and stamp is retired.) I stamped the brick with Real Red from Stampin’ Up and Versafine black inks on a brown colored cardstock that is 4 ” high by 5 3/4″ wide. Before I glued the brick wall down, I put a piece of thick string tied to the bone behind the brick wall and dangling just out of reach to the bulldog. I used tape runner to adhere both pieces of paper and offset the brick wall toward the right side of the card.
I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color my dogs, bone and tennis ball. Inside the card, I stamped Happy Birthday. On a cream strip of paper about 1 1/2″ wide, I put my sentiment that was from Ralph Waldo Emerson on the strip using Soft Suede ink from Stampin’ Up. I created a banner making it long enough to not cover the center dog and placed the dog on the right up on dimensionals. The bone has dimensionals under it as well. I just used tape runner on the back of the tennis ball.
