I love Halloween and Halloween cards and decorations. I’ve gotten a late start on my Halloween projects so I’m rectifying that now. I started by punching a bunch of bats with an EK Success bat border punch and set the bats aside. I used a big really cute stamp from Whipper Snappers called “Halloween Pals.” I stamped the stamp on the MISTI with Ranger Archival inks on Canson XL watercolor paper that was 4 1/2 x 6 1/2″ . I also stamped an old Stampin’ Up stamp that says “Have a Spooktacular Halloween” and stamped it below my Halloween Pals. I have a new set of Derwent watercolor pencils and used them on this project. The blender pen is a Dove Blender pen and I found it on Amazon. I used Stampin’ Ups new fine tip glue that I was sent from a really generous Stampin’ Up rep by the name of Lydia Fiedler (her contact info is below), to glue our bats around the pals and I really liked the fine tip glue. I felt the glue came out really easily without a lot of squeezing on my part and the bats adhered to the watercolor well with this glue. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up demonstrator and are interested in buying their new fine tip glue, Lydia’s website is http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/understandblue/
. I put Crystal Effects on Dracula’s coat and hair and a little on the mummy and some on Frankenstein’s coat, bolts and his nails then added some purple glitter from Martha Stewart. A added gold Smooch on the medallion of Dracula and on Frankenstein’s teeth so he kind of looked like he had gold teeth and it looked really cute. After I glued down the purple bats, I went around the edge of the paper with metallic ink from Hero Arts Passion Flower. I also added some gold and purple rhinestones around the bats with the fine tip applicator glue from Stampin’ Up. My card is a 10″ x 7″ purple card and scored at 5″ so the card becomes a 5 x 7″ card. Inside, I put a layer of orange cardstock that was 4 3/4 x 6 3/4″ and used Elegant Eggplant ink from Stampin’ Up and used a stamp from my stash that I might have gotten from my friend Elicia that said “trick or treat” and added a skeleton and the word “Boo” beside the skeleton. I used a piece of black cardstock 4 3/4 x 6 3/4″ with fun foam added to the back with tear tape. I adhered the white layer to the black layer with the foam backing and took a long piece of black embroidery thread and went around the card several times with the thread and then tied it in a knot and added an green Halloween embellishment I had in my stash to the thread with tear tape on it’s back. I put a piece of washi tape that was orange polka dot and put it on the back of my envelope. I stamped a bat on the back of the envelope with Onyx Black Ink from Versafine and put another bat on the front bottom right corner of the envelope.. I really love this card and hope you do too.
