Last night, I finished making cards with the images I’d colored while off with hip replacement surgery four years ago. OK, maybe it was three years ago, I’m just not quite sure. I found a big Ziploc bag full of the images I’d colored, and thought it was high time I did something with them. I didn’t realize how many images there were, and by the end of this process, figured out there were a lot more than I anticipated. I made a video showing all of the cards and if I had to guess, I’d say there are at least forty cards…I didn’t count them, which was kind of foolish, because I just keep guessing at the number, but there are a lot of them. I’d patting myself on the back for coming up with a plan and following it through to completion. The only thing I didn’t do (yet,) is to decorate the envelopes I’ll be mailing them in.
I thought it was a great idea to allow viewers to have whichever card they wanted, so left it open in the video, for viewers to email me the card of their choice, and I’ll send it to them. I’m not sure how many cards I’ll be sending, but I’m always happy to mail viewers cards, and now that I have a ton of cards available, I’m hoping viewers take me up on my offer. I don’t think I’ll write in the cards I send, but will include a post-it note instead, with my note to them, so the recipient can re-use the card if they so choose.
Shortly after I started my YouTube channel, I bought an address book so I could keep viewers addresses, so I’d be able to send them a surprise card at a moment’s notice. I have a lot of addresses in the book, and sadly, I’ve misplaced it. It’s killing me to admit that, because today I cleaned my craft room, and still haven’t located it. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to start a new address book with this card offer.
One good thing that came out of my craft room cleaning, I found my art journal. It’s been bothering me, because I’ve had an idea I’d like to try in the journal, and couldn’t locate it anywhere. It never occurred to me that I would have put it in a shoe box when I sprayed gesso on the last few pages I need to finish. And then I put the shoe box on top of one of my storage cabinets, where I never look….Ohhh, if I had a dollar for every item I’ve lost in my craft room, I’d be rolling in dollars. That’s a slight exaggeration…I’d have at least $10…so it’s more than a “slight exaggeration”…it’s a huge exaggeration.
I can finally see most of the floor of my craft room, something that’s been missing for a long time. The tops of the counters are still cluttered, but it’s a lot better than it was before I started weeding it out. I’m still missing the address book, which was one of the main reasons for my search. I’m thinking it’s either caught in a drawer and is now stuck inside the cabinet, or has been misfiled with a bunch of other documents. I thought I always kept it with my first address book, and if that’s the case, it’s definitely jammed into the back of the drawer, and I haven’t figured out how to remove the drawer to check if something is behind it. I’m hoping there’s a way to pop the drawer out, but if there is, I haven’t figured it out yet.
I think I’ll leave it for tomorrow and maybe work on a diamond painting.. I know that diamond painting will relax me, and after spending several hours cleaning my craft room, I need a little bit of relaxation. (If you saw the state of my craft room before I tackled it, you’d understand why.) And more importantly, if you saw how bad the room still looks, you’d definitely know why I need to relax. I’ll bet Jennifer McGuire never worries about a crazy dirty craft room, but then again, I picture her having a helper that follows along behind Jennifer, cleaning her messes and leaving her craft room looking spotless.. I need to find someone to do that for me..Rich?
