The dies are from Spellbinders and are called the Kaleidoscope Trio, here’s a link to find them. https://tinyurl.com/vw6rkrf .
I cut pink cardstock from Stampin’ Up to 8 1/2″ wide x 5 1/2″ tall, and scored it at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ length. This makes an A2 sized card.
I used the hexagon shaped dies and cut them out of silver and purple paper. I then took one of my die cuts and laid it on the edge of a piece of white craft paper, and cut out the hexagon. The paper (on the other side) looks like tie dye that came from a paper pad from a Joanns brand called Ms Sparkle & Co. I thought the tie dye would look good, but it didn’t, and the back was white….so I used it any way. I used Tombow Mono Aqua glue to adhere the layers together. Here’s a link to it. https://tinyurl.com/tqu2csv Tombow makes another glue that also works well, called Tombow Mono Liquid Glue, but you only get half as much, for the same price….here’s a link to it in case you are interested. https://tinyurl.com/ws97r8f
I made five hexagons, with three layers…the bottom layer is the white layer that is not a die cut, then the next layer is either purple or silver, and the top layer is the opposite of the middle layer, again, either purple or silver. I wanted to have a little variety on my card front so alternated the purple and silver layers. I put foam adhesive behind each of the hexagons and then die cut the word “hi” out of silver, white and purple papers. I laid the white hi on the bottom, then offset the purple layer, then laid the silver layer offset, so you can see all three colors. I put a thin line of foam tape behind “hi” and laid it on the top left side of the card front. I then laid the hexagons, alternating the silver and purple topped ones, so you’d not find the same color next to each other. I laid three of the hexagons toward the right of the card and laid them in a row so they were in a vertical row… then laid two of the hexagons to the left of the first three, making sure they were also in a row. I talked about Zig Two Way Glue pens and why I love using them to glue things down, and shared where I buy them, at pegstamps.com…Here’s a link to the glue pen. https://tinyurl.com/ssn9sxa
I decided I wanted to add a bunch of diamonds I had left over from diamond painting projects. I had one shaped like a teardrop, and used it above the “i” in “Hi” and then used a dark pink alcohol marker to make it the same color as the diamonds I glued down. I used the Tombow Mono Aqua glue to add glue to the center of the hexagons, instead of the Zig two way glue pen, as the silver paper doesn’t allow the pen tip to lay glue down. Since I was already using the Tombow Mono Aqua glue, I kept adding it all over so I had small spots of glue to add diamonds….I added dark pink and white diamonds to the card front.
Tools you can use to pick up diamonds with are as follows:
The boat that comes with a pick up tool and wax link: https://tinyurl.com/tz67wek
Tool that has a sticky end and requires no wax link: https://tinyurl.com/umphlvc
I added one of the hexagons to the front bottom right corner of my envelope and made sure it was well adhered with Tombow Mono Aqua glue, so it doesn’t come off in shipping.
As a disclaimer, my girlfriend bought me the dies that I used in this video from Aliexpress.
